Location: St. Louis, MO
Perfect For: Visitors of all ages looking for a visual feast from the moment you walk up to the hotel down to the primary color of your room, which guests get to choose.
Angad Arts Hotel in St. Louis’ Grand Center Arts District takes its name seriously. Artwork and installations populate every inch of the hotel, from color-tinted mirrors in the hallways to the changing visuals displaying on the oversized Chameleon Lamp in the hotel’s lobby. Which is on the twelfth floor, by the way. Go exploring and you’ll find art on display from grade schoolers to professionals in their nineties, and everyone in between.

The hotel’s local ties run deep, with a rule of only showcasing work from artists within 200 miles of St. Louis. The aesthetic is turned up to eleven in the guest rooms, all of which are singularly color and mood-coded. Guests can choose from rooms ruled by red (empowerment), blue (freedom), green (rejuvenation), or yellow (curiosity), with the bed covers, wallpaper, and all other furnishings matching that tone. Especially striking are the color-coded throw pillows on every bed, which feature an illustration print of the eyes of either artist Paula Haniszewski on one side or her husband’s on the other.
“We really take our brand into account as far as kind of immersing all of your senses to create an actual experience versus just another hotel stay.” - Jenna Phillips
Visitors can head to the hotel’s rooftop bar, ART Bar, for innovative cocktails like Lost on the Estate or Roses’ Romance, as well as light bites, including flatbread, tacos, and a charcuterie platter. While there, take in an elevated view of the surrounding neighborhood, including the The Fabulous Fox concert hall and Powell Hall, current home of the St. Louis Symphony. You can also spot the famous Gateway Arch a few miles in the distance.
“The building really ends up reflecting the artists of the area.” - Vanessa Rudloff
