Fulton Market’s Emily Hotel Is Inviting To All
Enjoy an outdoor movie experience with Rooftop Cinema Club
Location: Chicago, IL
Perfect For: A relaxed stay after a night out in Chicago’s Fulton Market and West Loop neighborhoods.
Over the last decade, the Fulton Market neighborhood has became an F&B epicenter in Chicago, with a slew of high end bars and restaurants opening across Fulton St and the adjacent Lake St. Out of town visitors enjoying dinner and drinks or locals looking for a staycation have a lodging option that connects them to the best the neighborhood has to offer: The Emily Hotel.
Named after Canadian artist Emily Carr, The Emily opened in early 2022, transitioning from the Ace Hotel. The aesthetic throughout the hotel evokes both art and nature for a calming environment.
“Everyone's welcome. We want you to enjoy. We want you to feel comfortable and converse with us.” - Zoltan Payerli
The property is also one of Chicago’s only independent hotels, something that, according to General Manager Zoltan Payerli, provides a more meaningful guest experience.
“I truly, truly feel…that hotels like the Emily Hotel and our brand now is truly the future of hospitality,” the GM tells A HOTEL PODCAST. “We're talking, you know, these less than 300 rooms, so it's smaller, it's intimate. You have the sense of exclusivity as a guest. And it's not a stuffy luxury either. It's almost like you walk in the doors, you have the luxury of being yourself. You don't have to feel like you have to wear a certain something to go into the restaurant. Or you have to approach with caution or feel like you're being bothered by someone in the corner…with a name tag on.”
“This is becoming now a big piece of the heart of Chicago and what we're able to showcase from a culinary side with all the wonderful bars and restaurants that we have to offer in Fulton and on Randolph Street and even here at the hotel.” - Zoltan Payerli
Guests don’t have to leave the property to enjoy quality F&B offerings. Top floor cocktail lounge Selva offers low light ambiance indoors and premium West Loop views outside. Ground floor restaurant FORA also features indoor and patio seating and serves up lunch and dinner, as well as weekend brunch. Both concepts offer smash burgers, which Payerli calls a “top five in the city” burger option.

The hotel is also the Chicago partner of Rooftop Cinema Club, an organization that brings elevated outdoor screenings to cities like LA, London, Houston, and more.
Visitors can enjoy an array of cult classics, nostalgic favorites, genre offerings, and more on the top floor terrace of the hotel. A few of this year’s selections include Coming to America, La La Land, Get Out, and more. Attendees can also enjoy light bites and beverages during the screenings.
